THE CIRCUS IS IN TOWN
This series is about performance, colours and movement.
Performance is about taking all the risks to be extraordinary on the night.
The circus as a metaphore for the many sides of life, from the dark sides of the road to the magic of the bright lights.
My inspiration came from the Fellini movie La Strada, the mime Marcel Marceau and some new circus troupes I have encountered in recent trips to France.
“Hey There! Hoop-la! The circus is in town!
Have you seen the elephant? Have you seen the Clown?
Have you seen the dappled horse gallop round the ring?
Have you seen the acrobats on the dizzy swing?
Have you seen the tumbling men tumble up and down?
Hoop-la! Hoop-la! The circus is in town!”
